Scottish Arts
(To include new Art, Literature,
Music and Allied Forms of Artistic Endeavour)
Scotland has a long-standing tradition of success in most forms of The Arts. And it's easy
to find the well-known Authors, Artists, Dancers, Musicians; look them up on the Web - they're
there.
What's less easy, is to know about new talent; new work. There
are often hidden gems - hidden simply because their progenitors have been unable to bring these to our
notice, or we are too busy to be able to check up on what's new.
So we are going to try to help; we will give space to new works if we
are asked to, and if they meet our parameters of a) Scottish interest and b) reasonable taste. We're not going to
try to be Critics - one man's meat, etc. - but we would draw the line at anything promoting, for example,
terrorism, or child pornography. We will consider anything "artistic"; for
often, the author sees Art where others do not, and works of merit can go
unrecognised if no platform for publicity exists. Ask Van
Gogh.
If you've produced something new which you
think would interest our readers, tell us. Tell us what it is, what it's about, why you believe we should
publicise it for you, and your own background. Don't be put off if your creation doesn't fit the
better-known artistic paths; we - as we said - are not qualified to arbitrate for the tastes of
others.
And, if any of you have friends,
colleagues, acquaintances, that you feel we could help; tell them about us.
