A ghost grieving over a past
love affair …
...Alyssa Mead’s
well-ordered life is turned upside down when she inherits a bleak and
rambling house on a remote Scottish
island. Curious to know why the house was left to her, Alyssa
soon becomes dangerously entangled with the local
islanders. Increasingly aware of an unseen presence which lurks in the shadows, she finds herself slipping between
two worlds.
With a growing sense of unease, Alyssa fears a ghost from the past is
trying to possess her. To her dismay she discovers there is a rival claimant to the old house.
And what about the enigmatic Rory, where does he fit
in? The island holds many secrets for Alyssa to uncover…
Hauntingly and exquisitely atmospheric, Highland Enchantment is a captivating story
of love and betrayal.
About the Author:
Charmian Stewart was inspired to write
HIGHLAND ENCHANTMENT because she grew up in the Scottish highlands and was imbued from birth by all the
Celtic myths and magic.
Writing has been her passion ever since she could make scribbles with
a pen, producing short stories and rather unsteady illustrations from a very early age.
She is a descendant of the Royal House
of Stewart, but unfortunately her coat of arms reveals two bars sinister meaning that her ancestors
were twice conceived on the wrong side of the blanket. Her claim to the Scottish throne is therefore not quite
clear.
She studied English Language and Literature as well as History and
Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh. An extra subject which fascinated her was Scottish Gaelic and life in the
Scottish Isles. She now lives in Norway with her husband and a wild dog, her three children having fled the
nest!"
The Author tells us...
...“I have previously published three non-fiction books. One of
these has become a bestseller from Indonesia to Iceland, reprinted three times and it is a recognized handbook for
the shipping industry. My most recent publishing credit is as contributor to a book, published at the end of last
year by Mellen Press of the USA. Entitled “Workplace Mobbing in Academe”, it deals with bullying in the
workplace.
I hold a
MA degree from the University of Edinburgh in English Literature and History. Have been Nordic correspondent for
the London shipping journals, Lloyd’s List and Lloyd’s Ship Manager, and divide my time between Edinburgh and Oslo.
Former editor of two Petroleum
magazines so I am used to the unruly sea….” - Charmian Stewart
