THE MAGAZINE...
...FOR
SCOTS EVERYWHERE
___________//___________
"Magazine"- defined as 'a periodical publication
containing articles, stories, etc. usu. with photographs, illustrations, etc' (concise
Oxford Dictionary)... This, is a fair description of what this
section of 'find-it-in-scotland ' is.
...Also defined as 'a store for explosives'. THIS it is NOT! We want to present
items of indolent interest, of pastoral pleasures, of careless curiosity. We want to amuse, to attract, to
divert and engross: to fill you with fragrant fascinations, with deeds of derring-do and legends of life and
love. We want you to want our wee Magazine, because it amuses you. There are enough problems and nasties in
day-to-day life already; read on, and enjoy!
*****
Scottish Heartbeat
is, as defined above, a publication. It's not, though, a
periodical. Rather, it's ongoing. As items of interest come up, we put them in. Each new item will
go to the top of the list on its respective page, but in the normal course of events, none will be
removed.
We'll keep you
up-to-date with what's new in The Mag., listed on the - better believe it - "What's New" page. And we already have eight main sections within the Mag., with
more in the pipeline: so far, we have...
...Wee Bits (snippets of all sorts); Scottish
Names (in three Sub-sections); Beauty of
Scotland; Scots Myths (and
legends); Scots Firsts (not just inventions,
either); Speaking Scots (see's a
haudie,eh!); Scottish Buildings (from the
rich to the poor, and the sublime to the ridiculous); and Travels in Scotland (Wullie, your co-host, describing his
waanderrrs aboot the laand)
******
So please, read on;
hopefully, there will be items that interest you; some that may surprise you; some, you find hard to believe.
